Why Phil Runs With The Harriers

Phil turned up for club nights looking for structure, a few friendly faces and a reason to lace up each week. He found all three. Training with others gave him consistency, confidence and a nudge to try new things.

Tuesday Track: Short Intervals, Big Gains

Most weeks, you’ll spot Phil at the track. The mix of drills, intervals and easy recoveries has sharpened his pacing and made hard efforts feel more manageable. He says the best part is simple: turning up, working hard, then chatting on the cooldown.

Local Running Events

Mote Park parkrun is a regular fixture for Phil and a handy test of form. He’s also jumped into club-friendly events, from a 1-mile relay to longer road races and hillier countryside routes. Nothing too precious, just getting out there with other Harriers and enjoying the buzz.

What The Club Means To Phil

Here’s what Phil had to say:

“Far more than just a club, found so many close friends here, all supporting each other, not just in running but outside of it too.

1 year on and still in the running for trophies, there’s life in the old 🐕 still 💪🏼”

We’d love to share more member journeys. It could be a first 5k, a return from injury, a session that clicked or a day out at a local race. Send a few lines and a photo if you have one, or grab us at club night and we’ll help shape it.
