Member of the Month, June 2025
Stefhan Lewis
Time to celebrate another incredible Harrier. For June, we’re proud to spotlight Stefhan Lewis, a long-standing and quietly committed member of the club.
Whether guiding at parkrun, supporting at club nights or encouraging others on the track, Stefhan brings consistency, kindness and community spirit to everything he does. His nomination came from one of our coaching team, recognising the many ways he helps others feel welcome and confident.
Meet Stefhan
A Quiet Supporter With a Big Impact
He’s a familiar face at club nights, a valued support runner and someone who supported our lovely Kate as a guide runner at parkrun, even before we introduced formal training. His care and encouragement made a real difference.
From Parkrun to track to races, he’s often found quietly helping others push through tough moments. He may not seek the attention, but his contribution is deeply appreciated. That’s why this month, he’s in the spotlight.
Why Stefhan Inspires Us
Stefhan shows us that being part of a club is not just about medals or times. It’s about showing up, offering support and helping others believe in themselves. He gives generously of his time, listens, encourages and leads with quiet strength.
And if that wasn’t enough, he has completed an Ironman. A true testament to resilience, patience and hard work.
Q&A with Stefhan
Where are you from, and where do you live now?
I was born in Maidstone and grew up here, going to Vinters Boys School as it was known then. I live in Leybourne now but will move back to Maidstone hopefully this summer if all goes to plan.
What’s your occupation outside of the club?
For the past 14 years, I’ve worked as a fire and security engineer at Harrods. I’m part of a team that works days and nights 365 days a year. The daily commute can be tiring, but I work with great people who make it worth the effort.
What do you love most about running?
What I love most about running, apart from keeping me fit, is that it gets you out in the countryside, especially in the summertime. You get to explore new places that you wouldn’t normally go and visit.
What’s the best thing about being a part of the Harriers?
I’ve been a Harrier since 2017. The best part for me is the camaraderie. It’s lovely to turn up to an event and have your fellow Harriers there for support.
What’s your best sporting moment?
My best sporting moment was running the red carpet and completing Ironman Italy. The high you feel as you cross the finish line makes all those hours of training worth it.
What song do you play when going for a personal best?
I don’t listen to music while running as I like to enjoy what’s going on around me. I’d much rather chat to one of my Harrier buddies.
What’s your post-race treat?
My post-run treat is usually a cappuccino and a piece of cake.
Thank You, Stefhan
Congratulations again to Stefhan Lewis, our June 2025 Member of the Month. If you see him out on a run, say hello and thank him for everything he quietly does for the club. He might not even realise just how much it matters.
