Anthony Warren
What a month for Anthony Warren. Wow, and thank you.
He is a runner, a triathlete and an Ironman. Most recently, in August, he completed the Ironman Kalmar in Sweden.
But those results are only part of the story. Anthony gives a huge amount back to the club, doing so with warmth, patience and a smile.

Meet Anthony
Anthony is often poolside coaching our swimmers to be their best in the water. He is a registered British Triathlon coach and has put in the hours to learn how to coach well.
Over the last couple of years, he completed the British Triathlon Foundation Coach and Group Coach courses. He has supported other coaches in the team as they took theirs.
Beyond the pool, he helps with indoor cycling, taking a shift now and then to add variety and to let others recharge.
He is a regular at club runs and always has time for a chat and a bit of timely encouragement. More than once, he has offered the right words on a hill at just the right moment.
Additionally, he brings his sound engineering and DJ skills to club events. That included the Awards Night this year.
Latest event: Ironman Kalmar, Sweden 2025
In August, Anthony completed Ironman Kalmar in Sweden. It capped a summer of steady training and reflects exactly what he talks about in his Q&A, the mix of routine, adventure and a clear head that endurance sport gives him.

Official Results Course Overview
First Ironman: Copenhagen 2022
Anthony’s first full-distance was Ironman Copenhagen in 2022. It set the tone for how he approaches big goals, one block at a time. The coach in him shows here, too, patience in the build and belief that turns into a breakthrough.
Anthony’s Results Course Overview
Stats: Full distance: 3.8 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km run. Flat, fast city course with superb crowds.
First Marathon: London 2016
Before the triathlons came the marathon. London 2016 gave him an early taste of the atmosphere and support he now brings to others at club runs and races. It planted the seed for longer adventures.

Q&A with Anthony
Where are you from, and where do you live now?
Originally born in Farnborough and early years in Bromley, I’ve since lived in various parts of Kent, from Cranbrook to Medway, and now live in Loose, where I’ve been for the past 18 years.
What’s your occupation outside of the club?
I work as a Network Security Engineer for a global logistics company… mostly to fund my various sporting endeavours!
What do you love most about running?
In a strange way, swimming, biking, and running are often the easiest ways I find to decompress and unwind. The endorphin release at the end of a good session is a fabulous tonic for whatever the day has brought.
Couple that with a spirit of adventure and challenge, and you’ll get a glimpse into my world!
I enjoy the process of showing up consistently for training almost as much as I enjoy completing events.
What’s the best thing about being a part of the Harriers?
I love the diversity and depth of experience within the Harriers. If you’re considering an event, tackling a race distance you’ve never done before, trying a new discipline, or taking on a fresh challenge, there’s almost always someone in the club who’s done something similar and is willing to share their experience, encouragement, and tips.
With my coaching hat on, I especially enjoy seeing when someone has a “breakthrough” moment, the realisation that “I CAN do this”, or masters a new skill.
What’s your best sporting moment?
That’s a tricky one to single out, as there have been many!
To name a few…my first marathon (London, 2016) to my first IRONMAN (Copenhagen, 2022), to the camaraderie of #teamharriers cheering each other on at events and races, supporting everyone from the first to the last.
What song do you play when going for a personal best?
Oooh, another tricky one, as my musical palette is quite broad! A track that often makes it onto my FTP test playlist is Hall of Fame by The Script.
What’s your post-race treat?
It has to be a classic, burger and a nice pint!
Thank You, Will
