My First KFL
What should a first‑timer bring?
Bring your sense of humour, spare clothes and embrace the team spirit!
What did your first season feel like?
I didn’t know what to expect, I didn’t do XC at school so it was a learning curve all season. It was honestly some of the most fun I have had running, from taking on challenging terrains – grass, sand, muddy bogs, unpredictable weather and learning to laugh at the terrible photos that appear after. It’s pretty much the most fun you can have on a Sunday morning in a muddy puddle!
Who is KFL for, and what’s the finish line like?
It doesn’t matter your pace or if like me you have never done it before, it’s for everyone and we are all there to help and support you. The white(ish) kit of the Harriers is always on the finish line cheering everyone home.

Big thanks to Kate Phillips-Barrett for reminding us that KFL is all about laughter, mud and team spirit.
If you see Kate at training or at a KFL start line, give her a cheer and ask about her first season.
