Why Enter the David Thornby 10k?

The Maidstone Harriers 10k was the brainchild of Harriers legend David Thornby, who had the original idea for the course. David passed away in the summer of 2025 and the race has now been renamed in his honour as the David Thornby 10k for 2026.

What’s the Day Like?

Last year’s event (2025) was on a beautiful sunny day and nearly 150 runners joined us for the race. There seems to be something about this race that brings out the best weather.

As this is an event put on by runners, the course was well marshalled by friendly and supportive members of the Maidstone Harriers, who were there to cheer all the runners.

All finishers received a beautiful farm-themed medal, this year featuring Nigel the Pig, who seemed really impressed when shown the medal by Little Fant Farm’s Sonya.
