Maidstone Half Marathon

The half marathon has been running for 25 years now, and the current course takes in much of the original course when the race was first run in the mid 1980s. Runners head out of Maidstone through Bearsted along the A20, before heading up through the village of Hollingbourne and then onto the Pilgrims Way, before heading back into Maidstone via Bearsted Green. Previous editions of the race have started and finished at Mote Park or Oakwood Park. The current race starts and finishes in Grove Green, with race HQ based at the nearby Vinters Valley Community School.

A map of the race route can be viewed here.

The Heart of Kent Hospice are supporting our race this year.

The Heart of Kent Hospice provides specialist care and support to patients and their families who are affected by cancer and other life threatening illnesses. This care is provided through our Inpatient Unit, Day Therapy, Community Nursing Team and Family Support Team to approximately 800 patients each year. Our Community Nursing Team also cares for at least 350 patients in their own home each week.

Our care is free to those that need it. However, with annual running costs of £3.6 million each year, and only 29% local statutory funding we rely heavily on the local community and businesses for support.

Please also call the Hospice on 01622 790195 to let us know that you are fundraising for us, or e-mail fundraising@hokh.co.uk
